Julkowski and Boddy Get New Coaching Positions
07/30/14 - Two former WVC standouts, Joe Julkowski and Tyler Boddy, have accepted new coaching positions in NCAA women's collegiate volleyball.

Former Lakeland College star Joe Julkowski has accepted the assistant coaching position at Northwestern University after spending the past two years as the assistant at Northern Illinois University. News Release

Tyler Boddy, a former UW-Oshkosh standout and 2011 NCVF National Player of the Year, has been brought on as the full-time assistant coach at NCAA Division II Southwest Minnesota State University. News Release

04/07/14 - The NCVF National Championships have wrapped up. Here's how the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference teams ended up:
UW-Oshkosh I won the Men's Division I National Championship.
UW-Oshkosh II won the Men's Division III National Championship.
UW-La Crosse was the National Runner-up in Men's Division II.
UW-Whitewater tied for 37th in Men's Division I.
Marquette University tied for 41st in Men's Division I.

04/05/14 - Today is the last day of the NCVF National Championships in Reno, NV. Nine of our 18 teams are still in position to play for a national championship. Keep track of all of our teams today at teamwvc.blogspot.com.
2014 NCVF National Championships Start Thursday
04/01/14 - The NCVF National Championships are being held this week in Reno, NV from Thursday Apr 3rd to Saturday Apr 5th. This year 18 WVC squads will be competing.

We have created the Team WVC blog to make it easier to update scores and results from the tournament. Visit teamwvc.blogspot.com often for the most up-to-date results.

2014 WVC State Championships Results
03/31/14 - Men's Varisty: The battle of the #2's. #2 in NCVF Division II UW-La Crosse (12-4 WVC) defeated #2 in NCVF Division I UW-Oshkosh (15-1 WVC) in the Championship match 25-21, 25-23. Oshkosh won the regular season title.

Men's JV: UW-Oshkosh II capped off another perfect WVC season by taking home their 5th JV state championship in a row. Oshkosh II defeated Marquette University II 25-8, 25-20 in the championship match.

Women's Varsity: UW-Eau Claire A repeated as champions for the 3rd year in a row. The Blugolds defeated UW-La Crosse A 25-14, 22-25, 15-9 in the final.

Women's JV: Our very first women's JV title went to UW-La Crosse B. The Eagles defeated UW-Stevens Point B 25-13, 25-18 in the final.

2014 WVC Championship Schedule and Information
03/26/14 - The 23rd annual Wisconsin Volleyball Conference State Championships will be held on Friday and Saturday, March 28-29 at the Wisconsin Dells Center Dome. Announcement: there will be a $6 spectator fee this year plus a $5 per vehicle parking fee. Full concessions will be available as well. Visit the WVC Championships page for all of the details.

Ryan Theis Named Marquette's Head Women's Volleyball Coach
02/14/14 - WVC Hall of Fame member Ryan Theis has been named the fifth head women's volleyball coach in Marquette University history. Ryan played for UW-Milwaukee from 1997-2000 and was inducted to the WVC Hall of Fame in 2009. Ryan has been coaching for 15 years and spent the last six at Ohio University. Eagles Dominate First Women's Playdate
02/10/14 - UW-La Crosse A won the Varsity tournament defeating UW-Stevens Point A in three sets in the championship, and UW-Oshkosh A in three sets in the semifinals. They went undefeated in pool play, beating Carroll, River Falls, and Whitewater A. Despite the Eagles leading in all sets, they dropped one set each to to UW-Oshkosh A and UW-Stevens Point A, and ended the day with a set record of 16-2. Katie McCarthy (#6) was unstoppable during the championship match and finished with 11 kills, including match point. Setter Laura Neubert (#7) was also a key to their success, as her relentless pursuit of the ball allowed her to put up consistent sets to allow their hitters to terminate the ball. For her outstanding play, Neubert was selected as the Varsity Division's Most Outstanding Player.

UW-La Crosse B won the JV Tournament, defeating UW-Stevens Point B for the championship, and UW-Oshkosh B in the semifinals. They also took first in their pool, beating Whitewater B, Stevens Point B, and Milwaukee B. La Crosse B only dropped one set on the day to UW-Stevens Point B during pool play, and finished with a set record of 11-1. Newcomer to the team, Ashley Block (#3), led the way for the Eagles with both blocks and kills, and was named the JV Tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

It was a great day filled with energy and hustle from all teams. Next up - Women's Playdate this Saturday, February 15th at UW-Eau Claire. Good Luck to all of our teams!

R.I.P. Dale Rohde
01/15/14 - Dale Rohde passed away today at the age of 49 at his home in Brookfield after a fight with cancer. He was one of the first and biggest supporters of the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference as an official and fan. On behalf of the WVC and all it's past, current and future players our thoughts are with his family. He had great passion, humor and love for the game and will be missed by many.
2014 Eligibility Form
11/21/13 - The 2014 WVC Eligibility Form is now available for download. All players and coaches/captains must fill out the information requested and sign it. By signing, student athletes allow the school registrar to release the number of credits they are taking to the advisory board of the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference. Players must meet all eligibility requirements established by the WVC and the NCVF to be eligible for the 2014 WVC season. The deadline for the completed form is January 17, 2014.
2014 WVC Championships to be Held in Wisconsin Dells
11/18/13 - Just Announced: The 2014 WVC State Championships will be held at the Wisconsin Dells Center on Friday-Saturday, March 28-29, 2014. This is the "Dome" facility located near the Chula Vista Hotel Complex. More details will be emailed to team reps.

10/27/13 - Before kicking off this year's season, the WVC advisory board will be holding mandatory phone conferences for each division. Call instructions will be emailed to team representatives. Dates and times:

2013 WVC State Championships Results
03/30/13 - Men's Varisty: Lakeland College came alive on Saturday in tournament play by going the distance with Marquette University (25-21, 25-27, 15-8), knocking off the heavily favored UW-Oshkosh Titans (25-22, 25-23) in the semi-final and running over UW-Whitewater (25-14, 25-13) in the Championship match.

Men's JV: University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh II dominated all season long, and that didn't change over the weekend. They finished the WVC season undefeated by beating 25-14, 25-15 Moody Bible Institute in the Championship match.

Women's Varsity: University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire repeated as champions in 2013. They won 3 of the 4 tournaments during the season and didn't drop a match all weekend. The Blugolds defeated UW-Stevens Point 25-16, 25-22 in the final.

UW-Eau Claire Bests UW-La Crosse for the Second Time This Week
02/19/13 - UW-Eau Claire A defeated UW-La Crosse A in the final of the third playdate (28-26, 25-21) held at UW-Stout on Feb. 16. Eau Claire also had beat La Crosse six days earlier at the second playdate final. Eau Claire outside hitter Leah Klink was named the Most Outstanding Player.

UW-Eau Claire Women Get Revenge on UW-La Crosse
02/13/13 - UW-Eau Claire A, who lost to UW-La Crosse A in the first playdate, got their revenge in the finals of playdate #2 with a 18-25, 27-25, 15-8 win. River Falls A and Stevens Point tied for third. Eau Claire outside hitter Karen Sueppel was named the Most Outstanding Player.

UW-La Crosse Women Win 1st Playdate
01/28/13 - UW-La Crosse A defeated the reigning state champs, UW-Eau Claire A (25-22, 25-23) in the final of the first women's playdate of 2013. La Crosse knocked off Whitewater A (25-16, 25-17) and Eau Claire beat UW-Oshkosh (25-18, 25-22) in the semi-final matches. Holly Vogelsang of UW-La Crosse was named the Tournament Most Outstanding Player.

2012-2013 Kickoff Tournament
11/02/12 - The WVC kickoff tournament will be held on Saturday November 17 at Lakeland College. Entry fee is $150 for the first team and $100 for a second team. Contact: Chris Brandt at brandtch@lakeland.edu to register. The deadline to enter in the tournament is Friday, November 9.

Two WVC Teams Win National Championships in Kansas City
04/20/12 - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse successfully defended their Division II national championship from 2011 by going undefeated in the 2012 tournament. The Eagles defeated Georgetown University, Lewis University, Providence College-Canada and Air Force on the final day to win their second national championship in school history. It was their third trip to the championship match in as many years.

The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh II entered the tournament as the #2 seed in Division III and avenged an early season loss by defeateing #1 Ohio State University (25-19, 28-26) in the championship match to win their second national championship in three years. Oshkosh II finished the season with a 40-4 record. For more on Oshkosh's title run, visit oshkoshvolleyball.com

Other Noteable Finishes
The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh I entered the Division I tournament as the #1 seed overall, but suffered a heart-breaking loss in the semi-final to #18 University of California - Berkeley (25-18, 24-26, 16-18). It was the first semi-final UW-Oshkosh has ever lost at nationals.

Marquette University always finishes above their tournament seed, but this year was one of the more impressive finishes, as the 37th ranked Golden Eagles made it into the gold bracket and finished tied for 9th.

In 2011, the University of Wisconsin-Stout came within one set of winning the Division IAAA championship. In 2012 they were back in Division II and had another strong showing, as they tied for 5th.

04/02/12 - Men's Varisty: University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh didn't lose a set all weekend as they fended off UW-La Crosse in the final 25-16, 25-18.

Men's JV: University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh II dominated all weekend, only letting one opponent score more than 20 points. They knocked off a hot Northland International University team 25-18, 26-24 in the championship match.

Women's Varsity: Conference newcomer University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire capped off their two playdate wins with their first state title. The Blugolds defeated UW-La Crosse 25-19, 25-18 in the final.
